The fence at the front of the gite borders the Vire La Dathée Golf Course. It is a beautiful golf course set in a conservation area with wonderful views over Lake Dathee.

This course was recently extended to eighteen holes from nine and according to many golfers presents a great challenge. The course has a length of 5666 metres and a par of 71. Click the images and links below to see the course layout and other information including the local rules.

The Vire La Dathée Golf course is open all year and our gite is available through all seasons.

"Everything here is preserved; country hedges, original water hazards, gorgeous oak and beech trees make Vire-La Dathee a demanding technical golf course. The sight is exceptional, even spectacular on the back nine when you discover the hill of the Bois de la Haye. The challenging first holes may be fatal; you have to be clever with the iron game and the large sloping greens demand perfect putting. But beyond the game don't miss the environment, the sight of the green Norman countryside with its changing colours according to the seasons. Close to the club-house, at the start of hole 10 you can see the local landscape very far away, the lake of the Dathee, a water hazard on the foreground, a difficult green to catch. Your golfer's eye will be distracted by the beauty of the site. The golf course of Vire-La Dathee is unique in Normandy thanks to its originality, its striking identity and its numerous traps. It is truly a great course as your scorecard will prove, and the pleasure will be endless."
